Covid-19 Update - Friday, May 28Today the province announced some upcoming changes to sport regulations in Nova Scotia. These changes will become effective next Wednesday, June 2. The changes coming on Wednesday will apply to everywhere in the province.
Changes Effective Wednesday, June 2
Outdoor training and practices will be permitted for groups of 10. The 10 includes all participants and staff, and the groups must remain consistent from practice to practice. Multiple groups of 10 will be allowed on the field of play at a time as long as they can ensure that they remain physically distanced. There can be no alternating between groups at any time.
Please note that Nova Scotians are asked to avoid non-essential travel into and out of Cape Breton Regional Municipality and into and out of areas of Halifax Regional Municipality, Hubbards, Milford, Lantz, Elmsdale, Enfield, Mount Uniacke, South Uniacke, Ecum Secum and Trafalgar. Sport is not considered essential. A final decision will be made about travel for those areas of the province early next week, based on COVID-19 activity.
The province will be reopening through a phased in approach (Reopening Phases). We recognize that these numbers won’t work for all sports, however the province is aware, and we are working with them so that games and competitions for sports can be considered at the appropriate time. We will follow-up with more information as it becomes available.
